IMPORANT NEWS/UPDATES FOR SENIORS MARCH EDITION
NATIONAL /STATE SCHOLARSHIPS
• Derrick Law Firm provides a $1000 car & truck accident injury scholarship to any high school or university student in the United States. Apply at https://www.derricklawfirm.com/library/scholarship.cfm.
• Ponton Law Scholarship. This scholarship is now available to any high school senior in the United States that desires to apply. Deadline: July 31, 2020, Award Amount: $1,000 Application: https://www.jamesponton.com/practices/car-accidents/#scholarship
• Flying Pig Scholarships of $2,500 each will be awarded to two males and two females that participate in Cross Country or Track & Field programs. Dedication, teamwork, service to their community and a passion for running are the necessary qualifying attributes. Additional requirements can be found on our website. All scholarship applications must be submitted by April 1, 2020, with an accompanying essay and recommendation letter. http://flyingpigmarathon.com/flying-pig-high-school-scholarship.
• Bracken Co Conservation District: for students majoring in agriculture or natural resources and will be awarded locally. The application needs to be returned to the conservation district by April 30th. See Mr. Bryant for application.
• KEDC Scholarship Fund: Must have a 3.0 or high GPA, Must meet college benchmarks in Math, Reading, and English. Must write an essay and demonstrate financial need. Scholarship is $2500 and deadline to apply is April 1, 2020 and the recipient will be notified by May 1, 2020. An application, rubric and criteria can be found on our website: www.kedc.org (Instruction tab, then Instruction & Leadership tab, then KEDC Annual Scholarship tab).
• FLEMING MASON ENERGY: Each year, FME gives out ten $1000 scholarships to deserving students who are members of our cooperative. The deadline for applications is March 31. Candidate must be from the Fleming-Mason Energy service area and their parents or legal guardian must have a residential or business account with Fleming-Mason. All candidates must agree to appear at the Fleming-Mason Energy’s Annual Meeting. All applicants must complete a typed 500 word essay. See Mr. Bryant for application.
• PB&J Scholarship: Deadline, May 31st amount $500 to $1,000. Apply at http://bit.ly/pbjscholars2020. Schlarsihp if focused on students whose test scores or GPA’s might not be the best.
