I'm glad that you took the time to find out more about me. I'm Megan Blackaby. I am teaching 1st grade this year! I have had the pleasure of teaching 1st-4th grades during my 18 year career. I can not believe that I am beginning my 19th year of teaching!
I live in Pendleton County with my husband and our daughters. I graduated from Northern Kentucky University in 2000 with my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, 2004 with my Master's Degree in Reading and Writing, and 2013 I received my Rank I in Gifted Education and Teacher Leadership. I am anxious to use new ideas and strategies that I learned over the summer. When I have spare time, I enjoy reading, exercising, and crocheting but the most important thing to me is spending time with my family.
I am often asked why I became a teacher. The main reason is that I enjoy being around children and I truly care about their well being. I also get great satisfaction of watching them learn and grow. Ever since I was a young child, I always said that I wanted to be a teacher and that teaching was all I ever wanted to do. So that is proof that dreams can come true if you set your mind to something! I have found that the past 18 years have been the most rewarding experience of my life, aside from being a mother :) .
Thank you for taking the time to find out more about me!
