Welcome to the 4th Grade!
I am Alison (Scaggs) Bach and I am from Vanceburg, Ky. I graduated from Lewis County High School in 2007 as the Valedictorian of my graduating class. In May 2011, I graduated Cum Laude from Northern Kentucky University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education and a Mathematical Science Minor. In May 2016, I graduated with my Master's Degree in Special Education from Georgetown College. During the Spring of 2011, I completed my student teaching at Augusta Independent in the 1st and 3rd grades, and I never left! This is my eighth year of teaching and I cannot think of a better place to continue my journey as a teacher than here at AIS!
In my spare time, I enjoy cooking, reading, baking, traveling, being outdoors, and hunting with my dad. I live right up the street from the school in Augusta, KY with my wife, Dana, and our newborn twins, Max and Margo. Things come in twos at our house, we also have two dogs and two cats. If we are not off on some adventure, we spend most of our time at home on our front porch, taking in the evening air with our pets and babies.
I have enjoyed every minute of my time so far at Augusta Independent. I love being able to watch my students continue to grow as they journey through middle and high school. As I tell them, "Once you're in my class, you're always in my heart!" Not only do I like to teach in the classroom, but I love being able to encourage and inspire the students in extra-curricular activites. At AIS, I also serve as the Elementary Academic Coach and along with Mrs. Colleen Taylor, I've tremendously enjoyed re-vamping the high school Drama Club! Augusta is like a big family, and I love being able to be a part of it.
I'm excited to see what this school year has to offer, but I have no doubt it will be a highly rewarding year full of learning and great fun! Feel free to contact me with any questions/comments/concerns at firstname.lastname@example.org, messaging me on ClassDojo, or by calling 606.756.2105 (the best time to call is during my planning, from 12:10 - 1).
