Read to Achieve
My name is Tammi Denham and I am the Early Intervention Reading teacher for grades K-3. As many of you know, I have been at Augusta Independent School for the past 12 years in many different roles. While I am retired, I have been fortunate enough to continue to serve the students in our school on a part-time basis. When you are lucky to find a job that you love, in a place that you love, and with co-workers, administrators, students, families, and a community that you love, it really is hard to leave! So, when I learned that Augusta Independent
recieved the Read to Achieve reading grant, I jumped at the chance to be the teacher.
The Early Intervention Reading program for grades K-3 is a supplemental intervention program in which I will work with small groups of students for 30 minutes a day in the reading resource room. Students will be eligible for the program based on a combination of students' scores on a the MAP test, informal reading surveys, and teacher recommendations. Parents will be notified prior to their child starting the intervention programs. Student progress will be kept weekly and shared with their regular education teacher and parents frequently.
I am excited to begin working with the students, and look forward to the growth that I know we will all see by providing early intervention services! If you have any questions concerning this program or would like more information, please contact me at the school or firstname.lastname@example.org.
