Augusta Independent has established a Reopening Team with representation of faculty, staff, parents, students, board members, community members and health professionals. The Reopening Team will meet June 22 and begin the process to develop a Reopening Plan for the 2020-2021 school year. The Reopening Plan will prioritize the health and safety of all students, faculty, staff and families relative to state health guidelines and restrictions.

The Reopening Team will review the health guidelines for schools, parent/staff surveys and the Kentucky Department of Education guidance documents to develop the plan. Augusta Independent School District anticipates releasing the plan in mid-July and school starting on August 24 following the Reopening Plan and state health guidelines.

We appreciate everyone’s understanding, patience and flexibility as the plan is developed with the health and safety of students and staff being the priority.
