Augusta Independent to Transition to Virtual Learning

Governor Beshear issued executive orders yesterday related to COVID-19 that directly impacts public schools. Public schools have been ordered to cease in-person instruction beginning November 23, 2020. Augusta Independent will adhere to the restrictions:

-Middle and high school will continue virtual instruction until at least January 4, 2021.

-Elementary school (K-5) may reopen for in-person instruction December 7 if their county is not in the red zone. The district will notify parents/guardians on December 3 of the county’s status.

-Teachers will communicate to parents class schedules and instructional plans.

-Meals will be available daily for pick-up or delivery.

-The Kentucky High School Athletic Association postponed all winter sports until January 4, 2021 and their practices until after December 13.
