    Augusta Independent is scheduled to return to in-person classes September 28 on a four day a week schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Wednesday will be a virtual learning day. Per state guidelines, all students will now be required to wear a mask at all times. Teachers are in the process of reaching out to parents to confirm their child's learning option beginning on 9/28: in-person or virtual.

Back to School “Stuff the Cruiser” Drive

Bracken County— September 9, 2020 Last year the Augusta Police Department hosted a Back to School “Stuff the Cruiser” Drive where over $4,000 of donated school supplies were collected and delivered to Augusta Independent School.  This year’s event, to be held at the Walmart parking lot in Maysville on September 19, 2020, will be a collaborative effort by all of Bracken County’s Law Enforcement Departments:  Augusta Police Department, Bracken County Sheriff’s Office and the Brooksville Police Department.   All items collected will be distributed to local schools.

Donors are asked to stop by between the hours of 10am to 6pm to drop off much needed school supplies such as backpacks, notepads, pens/pencils, etc.  Other items in need this year are COVID-19 safety supplies such as hand sanitizer; sanitizing hand wipes, alcohol wipes, etc.
