Hello! My name is Chris Mason and I am the science teacher for grades 7-11. I would like to take this opportunity to give you a personal background of myself. I currently live in my hometown of Tollesboro, KY. I am a Maysville Community College and Morehead State University graduate. I received my Associate of Science from Maysville Community and two degrees from Morehead State: a Bachelor of University Studies and Master of Arts in Teaching for the science content area. This is my 13th year of teaching and my 9th year at AIS. Science has always been a passion of mine, and it feels great to be able to pass this passion on to my students.
I am a lifelong musician and have played in numerous bands down through the years. In my spare time, I enjoy playing guitar, attending concerts, listening to music, playing video games, reading, and watching football. I am a huge music fan, especially Kiss. My cat is named after a Kiss song. I have also been a lifelong Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
You can rest assured that your child will learn successfully in a safe and effective environment. I promote many hands-on activites, from group projects to fun-filled experiments. I am proud to be an Augusta Panther. I have come to grow fond of the community and am excited to pass on my love of learning to all members of the community. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
