AUGUSTA INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS RECEIVES LOWES TOOLBOX FOR EDUCATION GRANT

Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation has awarded a $5,000.00 Lowe’s Toolbox for Education grant® to Augusta Independent Schools. Augusta is one of more than 550 schools across the United States to be awarded a Lowe’s Toolbox for Education grant this fall for school improvement projects during the 2012-2013 school year.

 

AUGUSTA INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS SUMMER CAMPS

Each summer, Augusta Independent School offers a variety of summer camps to help keep our students involved and active in learning and sports.  Many of these camps are open to all students and the majority are free of charge.  Below are the camps available to your child this summer.  We hope to see a great turnout for each one!

AUGUSTA INDEPENDENT SCHOOLS AWARDED CRUMB RUBBER GRANT

Just in time for Earth Day, Augusta Independent School officials learned the district has been awarded a grant from the state Energy and Environment Cabinet.

TANNER KELSCH WAS AWARDED THE KHSAA/FORCHT BANK REGIONAL SPORTSMANSHIP SCHOLARSHIP

Tanner Kelsch, a senior, was awarded one of 32 KHSAA/Forcht Bank Regional Sportsmanship Scholarships.

SUMMER LUNCH PROGRAM

The Summer Lunch Program at Augusta Independent Schools will be from June 3rd - July 25th.

OHIO VALLEY WRESTLING INVADES AUGUSTA INDEPENDENT SCHOOL ON A DIFFERENT LEVEL

Ohio Valley Wrestling superstars Michael Hayes, Hannah and Holly Blossom visited on Friday, April 12th, with the students in Kindergarten through sixth grades for an Ohio Valley Wrestling Community Outreach Program assembly in the Library of the school.

MCTC TUITION DISCOUNT FOR JUNIORS

Current high school juniors that would like to take summer classes with MCTC will be provided those classes at a 50% discount.

AIS HONORS "MAMAW" BETTY WHITE WITH MEMORIAL PLAQUE
The family of  "Mamaw" Betty White attended a ceremony on December 21, 2012 honoring her memory.  A plaque was placed in the school honoring her 18 years of service to the students of Augusta. "Mamaw" Betty will be missed by all who knew her but her memory will certainly live on.

With the passage of Senate Bill 1 in the 2009 session of the Kentucky General Assembly, the Commonwealth of Kentucky is poised at the beginning of a new era in public school assessment and accountability.
NEW SCHOOL YEAR BRINGS NEW TEST RESULTS
The start of the new school year signals the approach of homework assignments, projects, cross country, volleyball, fall pictures, dances and much more for students. For many teachers and administrators, it is the release of test data from the first year of the new accountability system. 
NEW REGULATIONS MEANS NEW SCHOOL MEALS
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), in support of healthier eating habits for students of all ages, has released new regulations for school meals that are creating a new look for lunch trays nationwide.
