School Health Requirements

A recent amendment to the Kentucky Administrative Regulation on the immunization schedules for attending school added new immunization requirements for the school year, beginning on or after July 1, 2018.

Effective July 1, 2018, all students in kindergarten through twelfth grade must show proof of having received two doses of Hepatitis A vaccine to attend school. If your child has had theses immunizations, the School Health Nurse needs a copy of the immunization record at or before the beginning of the 2018-2019 school year.

As a general reminder, there are several other school health requirements.  Prior to entering kindergarten and again before entering sixth grade, students are required to have a physical exam.  Also, before entering kindergarten, students must have a vision exam, as well as a dental exam/screening.  Proof of all of these must be submitted to the school.  For more information, contact the School Nurse, Lou Ann Perkins, at 606-756-2105.
